Editorial Policy
Last Updated: April 14, 2026
Field Service Guide is an independent, AI-enabled research publication covering field service management (“FSM“) software. This Editorial Policy explains the principles, practices, and commitments that govern every piece of content we publish. We take our editorial independence seriously. It is the foundation of the trust our readers place in us and the reason the site exists in its current form.
1. Editorial Independence
Field Service Guide is editorially independent. No vendor, advertiser, affiliate partner, or investor has the right to review, approve, edit, veto, or alter any piece of content on the Site prior to publication. Our rankings, scores, recommendations, and criticisms reflect our independent editorial judgment — full stop.
2. How Our Content Is Produced
Field Service Guide is an AI-enabled publication. The combination of large-scale data synthesis with human editorial judgment is how we produce the breadth, depth, and currency of coverage that differentiates us. Specifically:
- We use AI to ingest, organize, and analyze large volumes of public information about each platform we cover — vendor documentation, pricing pages, customer reviews aggregated across G2, Capterra, TrustRadius, GetApp, and Software Advice, independent industry coverage, public financial filings where applicable, and community discussions on Reddit, LinkedIn, and specialty forums.
- Human editors review, validate, contextualize, and make final calls on every piece of content before publication. AI surfaces signals at scale; humans decide what’s true, what matters, and how to present it.
- We do not conduct hands-on field trials of every platform we review. We are transparent about this because we believe readers deserve to understand our methodology fully. We rely on the full body of public evidence — which is deeper and less biased than any single reviewer’s limited personal experience could be.
- Every published article displays a “last updated” date. We refresh reviews when pricing, features, or platform changes materially alter the analysis.
3. Compensation and Commercial Relationships
Field Service Guide earns revenue through affiliate marketing, cost-per-lead (“CPL“) referral arrangements, cost-per-acquisition (“CPA“) arrangements, and advertising. These commercial relationships do not influence:
- Whether a platform is included in our coverage.
- Where a platform ranks in our comparisons.
- The score a platform receives.
- The content, tone, or conclusion of a review.
- Whether or how we cover a platform’s strengths, weaknesses, or controversies.
We publish affiliate links only after a review has been written and finalized. Where we recommend a platform that does not have an affiliate relationship with us, we still recommend it, and we say so.
We disclose our commercial relationships prominently in our site footer, in every review that contains affiliate links, and in our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 C.F.R. Part 255).
4. What We Will Not Do
We make the following specific commitments, without exception:
- We do not accept payment for positive reviews. No amount of affiliate revenue, sponsorship, or direct payment can buy a higher score.
- We do not accept payment for higher rankings. Position in comparison articles and rankings reflect our analysis, not compensation.
- We do not let vendors review or approve content before publication.
- We do not remove negative findings from reviews in exchange for affiliate relationships, sponsorships, or other commercial benefits.
- We do not publish undisclosed sponsored content. If a piece is sponsored or created in partnership, it will be labeled clearly as such.
- We do not fabricate customer reviews, quotes, testimonials, or user counts. When we reference third-party review aggregates (e.g., G2, Capterra), we attribute the source.
- We do not misrepresent our methodology. Where our analysis relies on public evidence rather than hands-on testing, we say so.
5. Sources and Citations
When our analysis depends on specific factual claims — pricing, customer counts, product capabilities, financial performance, regulatory disclosures — we cite the underlying source where reasonably practicable. Where vendors provide information through official channels (pricing pages, documentation, SEC filings), we link to that source. Where we aggregate customer feedback from third-party review platforms, we identify the platforms and their respective sample sizes.
6. Corrections Policy
We commit to correcting material errors promptly. If you believe any content on the Site contains a factual error, please email hello@fieldserviceguide.com with the URL and a description of the issue. We will:
- Investigate the claim within a reasonable time, typically within five business days.
- Update the content if we confirm an error and add a correction note indicating what was changed and when.
- Respond to the person who reported the issue to confirm what we found and what (if anything) we changed.
Typos, stylistic edits, and minor formatting changes may be made without a correction note. Material factual corrections will always be disclosed.
7. AI Disclosure
Consistent with emerging best practices and FTC guidance on AI-generated content, we disclose prominently that Field Service Guide uses AI as part of its content-production process. We believe this is a feature, not a limitation: AI enables us to analyze substantially more evidence than a small human team could process, producing more comprehensive and internally consistent analysis. We pair AI analysis with human editorial oversight on every article. Rankings and recommendations are the output of that combined process, not the output of a model alone.
8. Conflicts of Interest
Field Service Guide’s editor(s) and owner(s) do not hold employment, consulting relationships, board seats, or ownership stakes in the software vendors we review, other than the commercial affiliate/CPL/CPA relationships disclosed generally above. If any such relationship arises, we will disclose it in the relevant review.
9. Reader Feedback and Suggestions
We welcome feedback from readers — especially from business owners who have firsthand experience with the platforms we cover. To suggest a platform for review, report an error, or provide feedback on any piece of content, email hello@fieldserviceguide.com. We review suggestions regularly and prioritize platforms with growing momentum in specific trades.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Editorial Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, call out the changes prominently.
